The Murtala Muhammed International Airport runway resurfacing project stands as one of Envostructs' most operationally critical infrastructure achievements. Commissioned by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) — the federal agency managing all commercial airports in Nigeria — the project involved resurfacing of the main tarmac runway at Nigeria's busiest airport, which handles millions of domestic and international passengers annually across its 3.9 km runways. Airport runway works demand extreme precision: all operations must be completed within defined FAAN maintenance windows to minimize flight disruptions, the pavement must meet ICAO and FAA international standards for friction, smoothness, and load capacity, and all works must pass independent airside safety validation before the runway returns to service.
